Paul Keating to star in world premiere of ‘Clive’ at the Arcola Theatre

We’re delighted to share the news that Just Voices’ very own Paul Keating will return to the Arcola Theatre this summer to star in the world premiere of Clive, a brand-new play by Olivier and BAFTA Award-winning writer Michael Wynne.
Running from 30 July to 23 August 2025, Clive is a funny, tender and surreal look at loneliness, connection, and the unexpected friendships we form to get by, especially when working from home. Paul takes on the title role of Clive, or rather, Thomas, a remote worker who confides in his oversized cactus named Clive.
Directed by the brilliant Lucy Bailey, Clive reunites Paul and Lucy after their celebrated collaboration on Kenny Morgan, also at Arcola, where Paul delivered a moving performance in the title role.
Paul is a two-time Olivier Award nominee for Tommy and Closer to Heaven, and has shone on stage in Tick, Tick… Boom!, Little Shop of Horrors, and The Full Monty. He brings both heart and humour to every role, and we can’t wait to see what he does with Thomas and his spiky companion.
Written by Michael Wynne (The Priory, My Summer of Love, Sugar Rush), Clive explores how the tools designed to keep us connected can sometimes leave us more isolated than ever, and how even a cactus can offer a little comfort when the world feels overwhelming.
